چکیده

The asynchronous-calculus is a variant of the-calculus where message emission is non-blocking. Honda and Tokoro have studied a semantics for this calculus based on bisimulation. Their bisimulation relies on a modiied transition system where, at any moment, a process can perform any input action. In this paper we propose a new notion of bisimulation for the asynchronous-calculus, deened on top of the standard labelled transition system. We give several characterizations of this equivalence including one in terms of Honda and Tokoro's bisimulation, and one in terms of barbed equivalence. We show that this bisimulation is preserved by name substitutions, hence by input preex. Finally, we give a complete axiomatization of the (strong) bisimulation for nite terms.

On Bisimulations for the Spi Calculus

The spi calculus is an extension of the pi calculus with cryptographic primitives, designed for the verification of cryptographic protocols. Due to the extension, the naive adaptation of labeled bisimulations for the pi calculus is too strong to be useful for the purpose of verification. Instead, as a viable alternative, several “environment-sensitive” bisimulations have been proposed. In this ...

On Asynchronous Session Semantics

This paper studies a behavioural theory of the π-calculus with session types under the fundamental principles of the practice of distributed computing — asynchronous communication which is order-preserving inside each connection (session), augmented with asynchronous inspection of events (message arrivals). A new theory of bisimulations is introduced, distinct from either standard asynchronous ...

Bisimulations for Asynchronous Mobile Processes

Within the past few years there has been renewed interest in the study of value-passing process calculi as a consequence of the emergence of the π-calculus. Here, [MPW89] have determined two variants of the notion of bisimulation, late and early bisimilarity. Most recently [San93] has proposed the new notion of open bisimulation equivalence. In this paper we consider Plain LAL, a mobile process...

Sound Bisimulations for Higher-Order Distributed Process Calculus

While distributed systems with transfer of processes have become pervasive, methods for reasoning about their behaviour are underdeveloped. In this paper we propose a bisimulation technique for proving behavioural equivalence of such systems modelled in the higher-order π-calculus with passivation (and restriction). Previous research for this calculus is limited to context bisimulations and nor...

More on bisimulations for higher order π-calculus

In this paper, we prove the coincidence between strong/weak context bisimulation and strong/weak normal bisimulation for higher order π-calculus, which generalizes Sangiorgi’s work. To achieve this aim, we introduce indexed higher order π-calculus, which is similar to higher order π-calculus except that every prefix of any process is assigned to indices. Furthermore we present corresponding ind...
